Candle Burning Safety Tips
Place your candle on a safe surface. Trim wick to 1/4" before each lighting to avoid smoking or blackening of container. If a mushroom forms on your wick, extinguish the candle and cut it off and relight the candle. The mushroom ball comes from excess scent. If your wick smokes it's telling you to trim it. Let the candle harden back up and trim your wick again before you relight the candle. You should only burn your candle about 4 hours at a time, this will also keep smoking or blackening of the container to a minimum. Discontinue use when 1/2" of wax remains to prevent heat damage.
Candles Have Memory
That's right. When you burn a container candle for the first time, it remembers how far across the surface it melted. For best results let the entire surface liquefy before extinguishing. No one likes a Candle that doesn't burn evenly.
Trim Your Wicks
You must trim the wick of a candle.Trimming to 1/4" before lighting prevents soot from forming when the flame encounters a draft. The mushroom that forms after a candle is burned will fall in your wax and make a ugly candle, also it will cause smoking.
Storing Your Candles
If you are not going to use your candle for a extended time, store it in a cool place. Your refrigerator will keep it fresh for long time to come.
